Found these two interesting posts about recycled urban furniture and sustainable style.
Worth checking out, as this is one direction that is a positive move towards using waste that would normally been thrown straight to the dumpster.

‘Recycled’ Urban Furniture

Sustainable Style

Arcosanti & Guiyu

April 10, 2008

I found this and thought it was an interesting concept. Some kind of urban laboratory?

“Italian Architect Paolo Soleri had a vision in the 1960’s… it was to create an environmentally sustainable community… the original green experiment. This vision was put into action in central Arizona in 1970… the project/city was named Arcosanti. His idea was based on a concept he calls arcology (a combination of architecture and ecology), designed to demonstrate ways urban conditions could be improved while minimizing the destructive impact on the earth… what an incredible visionary.”

And the exact opposite, Guiyu, the largest e-waste site on earth. An unimaginable world to live in. Check it.
